On Hold…

Hey guys. Family comes first…

To be completely honest… in addition to some other crazy events… we lost our brother recently and it’s thrown my and my hubby’s family for a loop.

There’s just a lot going on right now and if I’m going to start something as cool as The Cottage, it needs to be able to have a lot of my attention.

I care about it a lot… but after losing another of our younger brothers, plus working a full time job, and running my other side hustle, Fox & Fern… there isn’t enough time for The Cottage AND making sure I can be there for everyone who needs me.

I’m so honored to everyone who has helped so far and trusted in me and The Cottage. We may do it again in the future… who knows. But for now… I need to put my love and attention towards my fam! Thank you for understanding and not judging! Love you girls!

Maybe for now we could just hang out on Instagram. If enough of us join over there, maybe we could start a discord channel or something! Let me know your thoughts!

Created by a passionate nerdy girl with a love for the whimsical and fantastical, The Cottage is where like-minded individuals gather to share their favorite fandoms, discover new obsessions, and build lasting friendships in a supportive, inclusive community.

She suddenly stopped at my booth as her eye caught a piece of my dragon art. She looked at her friend and said “I wish I had a place that was socially acceptable to put stuff like this!”

That made me so sad that she couldn’t even decorate her house without feeling judged.

A few months later I was set up in a similar booth selling my fantasy artwork as two girls walked by in beautiful fairy costumes. As they approached, I said that I loved their outfits and a few minutes later as they were about to leave, one of the girls ran to the back of my booth and shoved a small glass potion bottle in my hand and said “Thank you for what you said earlier. You were the first person at this market to not look at us funny in our costumes.” Inside the bottle was a small flower. I think it symbolized a connection between us. A trust... A knowledge that I understood them.

So hey… to all you girls out there who get it… those of you who want a fresh new start to social media… all you nerds…
